Discharge/Colour reduction
Learn this magical and unpredictable technique for the removal and alteration of dyed cloth. All chemicals and fabrics supplied. Hand techniques such as painting, stencilling and shibori will be used, and screen printing is also available depending on facilities available. This makes an ideal 2 day workshop if combined with a dyeing session on day 1.
Shibori
Experiment with this fascinating technique of applying dyes and creating structure with fabrics. Using hot and cold water dyes, learn how to hand dye fabric and papers to create layers of texture and colour. An exciting process that creates wonderful colours, textures and patterns. Processes suitable for applying to fabric lengths and samples, clothing and accessories. Suitable for all ages and abilities.
Devore
Learn how to master this fascinating technique of burning out sections of fabric using had painting and screen-print. Hand paint into the fabric to reveal layers of texture and colour. An exciting process that you can apply to many fabrics, creating wonderful textures and patterns. Processes suitable for adults and those with some textile experience.
Papermaking
Experiment with the ancient art of making your own paper for collage, printing and books. Using reclaimed materials, cat will teach you how to make paper of many different types, exploring textures,layers and three dimensional structures. Suitable for all ages and abilities
Cyanotype Prints
Cyanotype is an exciting photographic printing process that is easy and achievable by all ages and abilities. All materials are supplied. It givesa a beautiful cyan blue colour print onto paper and fabric.rint.
