My work utilises a multitude of media, is process led and site specific.
I explore issues surrounding new technology in a visual art context, and the relationship between traditional making and modern communication. Although artworks are often in a virtual or digital format, the lure of material processes always draws me back to working physically with materials.
The use of environmentally sound materials and techniques is essential to me. I try to work only with what I already have or am given, and am inspired by the Arte Povera tradition. My materials are reclaimed and recycled, natural and synthetic, solid and virtual.
I also work within the community and environment as a freelance art teacher and practitioner, specialising in digital and traditional print, papermaking and textile techniques.
